Eco-citizenship pledge

Eco-citizenship pledge

“Eco-citizenship” at The Zovighian Partnership is defined as the human responsibility to be a proactive citizen and guardian of the environment by encouraging societal responsibility and ecological awareness to safeguard our ecological ecosystem. We believe that environmental preservation not only comes hand-in-hand with community development and socio-economic advancement but is also a primordial prerequisite to them.

As we strive to maintain an impactful, professional, and ethical safe workplace and corporate culture, we hold ourselves accountable to being eco-conscious and giving special preventative and responsive attention to our environment. As a company and a corporate citizen in the Middle East, we pledge to mitigate our ecological footprint in every step of our research missions and to be mindful of conserving our environmental resources and preserving our nature in our daily lives. Alongside our safe workplace pledge, we are committed to shifting our eco-consciousness to tangible eco-friendly practices and habits, with a measurable focus and commitment to reducing water and electricity consumption and wastage, eliminating plastic usage, re-using paper, as well as sorting and recycling garbage. These objectives are further upheld in both our Corporate Environmental Guide, which is available to all our team members, and our dedicated environment consciousness sections in our Research Handbook for our R&D team & experts. These tools serve as a stepping stone for building the needed environmental knowledge amongst our team members and visiting consultants and advisors, in addition to providing practical easy-to-use tips and guidelines that enable eco-citizenship and eco-guardianship. We also pay close attention to our carbon footprint, and while we often do not have the privilege of minimizing our air mileage, the Management Team along with other team members make it a point to walk to the office or use public transportation, in lieu of using a private car.

At ZP, environment preservation is not a choice but a collective responsibility towards our Mother Earth, for both our current and future generations. To fulfill this personal and corporate accountability, all team members are pledged and fundamentally committed to honoring this Eco-citizenship pledge, and constantly embracing its values and actioning them with impact in our strategic decision-making governance. Every year, we renew our commitment to planting cedrus libani and other native species by participating in reforestation and regenerative ecological projects in Lebanon and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in an effort to counter our corporate carbon footprint.

Our corporate policies are co-created by our team members, all of whom are well-informed, trained and capacity-built to foster and uphold all aspects of our commitments to and for one another. Our corporate governance is deeply aligned with the mandates of the United Nations Global Goals / Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the United Nations Global Compact.
